Wilson Phillips is an American trio involving Chynna Phillips, Carnie Wilson, and Wendy Wilson. All three of them are daughters from singers of 60s bands. Chynna is the daughther of John and Michelle Phillips of The Mamas & The Papas, while Carnie and Wendy are daughters of Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys. Together, the three ladies harmonize so well to create pop radio magic. Their debut single, “Hold On,” was an instant hit, becoming their first of three #1 hits from their debut album.
After just three years and two albums, the trio went on hiatus. During that time, Chynna pursued a solo career, and sisters Carnie and Wendy went on to record a Christmas album together. The two sisters also recorded an album with their father, appropriate titled The Wilsons. The three ladies eventually reunited in 2004 to record a new album of cover songs. Six years later, they recorded a Christmas album, then another album of cover songs (songs originally sang by their fathers).
