Cathy Dennis made headlines in dance music throughout the 90s. She was first introduced by D-Mob, aka Dancin’ Danny D, who achieved four #1 hits on his debut album. Two of those singles included vocals by Cathy. And Cathy later went on to have a successful career. However, after three albums and several #1 dance singles, she gave up recording and focused on songwriting. She has written hit songs for Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Sugababes, David Guetta, Adam Lambert, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and Celine Dion.
In 2014, Cathy started recording music again, but under the radar as she is only listed as an “uncredited” vocalist. This time around she is singing with the Swedish electronic dance music duo, Galantis. The duo uses a number of various sound effects and filters on the vocal tracks, so sometimes it’s not entirely clear that the lyrics are sung by Cathy. But I am proud of her nonetheless. I want more Cathy music!
