Stacey Q began her musical career under the name Stacey Swain, as part of a synth/new wave band with music producer Jon St. James. Together, they formed the band simply named by one letter, Q. They later renamed the band with three letters, SSQ. And when Stacey pursued a solo career, she carried the Q with her, calling herself Stacey Q. Throughout her career, she has continued working with St. James, and has a big following in the dance music genre and gay community.
Stacey made a generous impact on several charts in the 1980s. She acquired two Top 10 hits on the US Billboard Hot 100, as well as four #1 singles on the US Billboard Dance Singles Sales chart.
