The Killers are a rock band with a unique sound that stands out among the crowd. Over the years, they have been labeled under a number of musical genres, including new wave, alternative rock, indie-pop, synth-pop, and even electronic. You can even add dance once you factor in all of the remixes released by professional DJ’s and played on dancefloors across the globe. Further verification can be found on the US Billboard Dance Club Singles Chart, where The Killers have accumulated a handful of Top 10 hits, including two #1 dance singles, “Read My Mind” and “Human.”
Lead singer of the band, Brandon Flowers, formed The Killers with Dave Keuning in 2001. Currently, the remaining lineup includes Mark Stoermer and Ronnie Vannucci Jr. On his own, Brandon has found success as a solo artist as well. He even reached the Top 5 on the dance chart with his solo single, “Crossfire.”
FUN FACT: The Killers came up with their band name after watching a music video by the band New Order. During the video, a fake band logo is displayed on the bass drum. The logo shown is “The Killers,” and the video is for the song “Crystal.”
