Rick Astley was an instant success with his debut single, “Never Gonna Give You Up.” It reached number one in almost every country, including the US. In fact, his first two singles reached the top spot here in America on the US Billboard Hot 100, and those same two singles hit #1 on the Dance Club Singles chart as well. Under the production team of Stock Aitken Waterman, it was no surprise that he became a star on the dance charts. SAW made a notable impression on the dance music industry in the 80s with their distinctive sound of mixing Euro-beats and hi-nrg pop music. They also introduced us to Kylie Minogue and produced hit music for Samantha Fox, Bananarama, Nicki French, Dead Or Alive, and many others.
I had the pleasure of seeing Rick in concert here in America. He came to Atlanta, GA in February of 2017, and the crowd loved him. He was fun, entertaining, comical, and such a talent!
