Fergie began her music career singing in the girl group, Wild Orchid. The trio released three full-length albums before Fergie exited. She then joined the hip hop group, The Black Eyed Peas, as the sole female lead singer. She contributed to four full-length albums with the guys, and eventually left the group to focus on a solo career. To date, she has released two full-length albums of her own.
While Fergie was with Wild Orchid, the ladies scored a handful of hits on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Each of their singles were all remixed for DJ’s, but never managed to chart on the dance chart. Their single, “Talk To Me,” did manage to chart on the US Billboard Dance Singles Sales chart, at #10. With The Black Eyed Peas, the group had a slew of hit songs on the Dance Club Songs chart, including the #1 track, “Imma Be.” And as a solo artist, Fergie has reached #1 on the Dance Club Songs chart twice on her own, with “Glamorous” and “Gettin’ Over You.”
FUN FACT: Fergie was originally a member of the children’s musical television series, Kids Incorporated, for six seasons in the 1980s.
