Throwback Thursday: Gina G

ginag

Gina G achieved worldwide success with her hit “Ooh Aah… Just A Little Bit” back in 1996. The single climbed to number 1 in the UK, and barely missed the Top 10 in the US reaching number 12 on The Hot 100. It was an international dance hit garnering fame for the Australian artist. The song was even nominated for a Grammy in the Best Dance Recording category in 1998.

A year later, she recorded a full album of dance tracks, naming the album Fresh!. This was a favorite of mine at the time that got played over and over and over. It was a non-stop thrill-ride that had all the makings of a forever feel-good album. It was almost a decade later when Gina finally recorded another studio album. It was apparently only available through her website, and was never released nationwide.

I recently found out that Gina released another dance single in 2011, called “Next 2 U.” Feeling all giddy, I even found a video for the single on YouTube. I like! But don’t stop there Miss G. How about another donation to the dancefloor? Your fans do still exist.

If anyone has any updated info on Gina G, please post it in the comments.
