Sweet Sensation is a female trio formed in the 80s. Their freestyle music sound was, and still is, one of my favorite genres of music. During the 80s and 90s, they collected numerous hit singles on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, as well as the Dance Club Songs chart. Their biggest hit on the Hot 100 is their #1 ballad single, “If Wishes Came True.” Their biggest hit on the Dance Club Songs chart is their #1 single, “Never Let You Go.”
The original members of Sweet Sensation were Betty LeBron (aka Betty Dee), and sisters Margie Fernandez and Mari Fernandez. Mari left the group during the release of their debut album, and was replaced by Sheila Vega.
In 1991, their last album was released. It was a remix album entitled Time to Jam (The Remix Album). That same year, Margie and Sheila left the group and were replaced by three new members: Belle, Maya, and Jenae, now making them a quartet. They never recorded any new music, but performed as Sweet Sensation for the next few years until Betty embarked on a solo career. It was in 2005 that a new Sweet Sensation single was released, but credited as Dynamix Presents Sweet Sensation featuring Betty Dee. Today, Sweet Sensation is composed of Betty, Belle, and Jenae, and is currently performing throughout the United States.
