Before Paula Abdul started singing, she was choreographing music videos for Janet Jackson in the 80’s. And when she recorded her first album, it became one of the most successful debut albums in music history, generating four #1 singles on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Her next two singles from the follow-up album also topped that chart, giving her a string of six consecutive number ones.
Following the success of her debut album, she released a remix album entitled Shut Up And Dance. This was a gift to DJ’s all over the world, and even gave Paula another successful album as it climbed all the way to #7 on the US Billboard 200 albums chart.
Over on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart, remixes of her hits secured her status as a prominent dance music artist. However, none of her singles topped the dance chart until “My Love Is For Real” was released from her third album.
