The latest single by Avicii features former American Idol contestant Adam Lambert providing vocals, and Nile Rodgers as guest guitarist. “Lay Me Down” is the fifth single from Avicii’s album, True.
Avicii has enjoyed success as a top-ranked DJ, as well as a musician and producer who, just in the past several years, has enjoyed tremendous success with his unique progressive and electro house music sound. He has collaborated with big-name musicians that include David Guetta, Nicky Romero, Kate Ryan, Leona Lewis, and Lenny Kravitz. He can also be credited for introducing some non-dance artists to a broader range of audiences, such as those found on his recent hits. These names include R&B singer Aloe Blacc, soul singer Salem Al Fakir, bluegrass singer Dan Tyminski, and folk rock singer Audra Mae. Avicii is currently in the studio working with Madonna on her next studio album. Speaking of Madonna, the guitarist on this record is none other than Nile Rodgers, the guy that produced some of Madonna’s earlier hits, including “Material Girl” and “Like A Virgin.”
Adam Lambert has also found much success with his pop/rock and dance sound, so naturally this is a well collaborated effort. Lambert is currently on an international tour with British rock band, Queen. His former record label, RCA Records, is set to release a greatest hits collection this May. It will include some of Adam’s biggest hits from his first two studio albums, as well as performances taken from American Idol and Glee. Word has it that Adam is also in the studio working on a new album, set to be released later this year.
