Amy Grant has been recording Christian music for over 30 years, but for the first time in her career she is getting attention from DJ’s all across the world. Amy is releasing a remix album featuring some of her biggest hits over the the past few decades, remixed by some of the biggest names in the dance music genre. The set is due in August, titled In Motion: The Remixes.
Although her music has been primarily Christian music, Amy has dipped her feet into the pop music radio scene. Her greatest pop influence, most notably her biggest selling album to date, Heart In Motion, has sold over 5 million copies worldwide. Released in 1991, it generated a string of radio hits on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Some of those hits include “Baby, Baby,” “Every Heartbeat,” “That’s What Love Is For,” “Good For Me,” and “I Will Remember You.” Speaking of remember, I remember this album very well, having bought the CD back in the day and playing it over and over.
Remixes on the new album are contributed by Dave Aude, Chris Cox, Tony Moran, Warren Rigg, Guy Scheiman, Moto Blanco, Mark Picchiotti, Ralphi Rosario, Hex Hector, and 7th Heaven. From that roster alone, the album is sure to be a must-have for any dance music enthusiast! Thanks, Amy, for sharing some of your classic masterpieces with us in a whole new light.
I have no doubt that I will be dancing to some Amy Grant on a dancefloor somewhere very soon. Take a listen to the album’s first single, “Baby, Baby,” remixed by Dave Aude below.
